I know no more support will be given after that date, but I'd still like to use it at home. I don't use I.E. anyway so there is not going to be much trouble. I'm considering converting to Zorin 6.0 from Linux but I have all my disks from XP and my PC is still going strong with no hard-ware upgrades since I first bought it new in 2002.

Awesome so you wanna switch to Linux ay? AWESOME

Xp is THE best Windows ever with Windows 7 a close 2nd

I've had tons of minor issues in Windows 7 that just really aggrevate me

Things such as if i use 1280x720 as my resolution things look too bright so black is grey

At night when i play full screen games with F.lux the screen goes to the blue again

F.lux makes the screen more orange at night it's amazing

I don't have these issues in Linux - that's what i love about it

I think you made a good pick with Zorin

There are a few others that I like as well

Linux Mint is very easy as well and sometimes works better with hardware that other Linux won't

Ubuntu with it's Unity interface has really grown on me so look into that

Welcome to the world of Linux

You Can Use It Still But Although I Would Not Advice You For it !!! But The Things Which You Are Running Today On XP Am Sure Will Be The Same But 2014 Apps Would Not Work Well !!!!!! You Should Atleast Switch To Windows 7 !!!!! Ok !!!

They've been saying they will no longer support XP since 2008. Yes, you will still be able to use your computer with XP; but I think you will find that most new programs won't be compatible with it. So, it depends on how you plan on using your computer whether it will serve your needs. I used my XP until my computer died & I was forced to replace it. Of course, I couldn't find a new computer with XP on it & I finally stepped up to Win7. I really like it & sure am glad I did. It's like driving an old VW Beetle for most of my life & then driving a Cadillac...all the difference in the world. If you can't afford a new computer, your XP will suffice until you can save enough for a new one. If you don't have to have a top of the line computer, there are plenty of cheaper models out there that will give you the luxury of having the latest technology without all the expense. I've also found that if I can wait until time for school to start in the fall that the price of computers drop drastically. I saved $300 by buying in late August. Then I used that $300 to add the bells & whistles that were most important to me over a period of time. That way I didn't have to lay out all that cash at once.

Sure if you unplug it from the internet. No support means security flaws won't be fixed, and that means you'll likely get p0wned before you finish the two month period after EOL.

Yes you will still be able to use it just as you can still use Windows 95, 98, and 2000. There just won't be anymore support for it.
