Way back when in Office 2003, when you created a macro you could make a little button with your own text to help explain or hint at what the macro did. For example "BRPeter" could be recorded to a macro which could sign a fax or a letter with "Best Regards, Peter". Does anyone know how to do this in Office 2010 or indeed Office 2007

Office 2007 is very inflexible in this respect, the ribbons are locked up and you can only add macro buttons to the quick access toolbar, which isn't much use if you want lots of them.

There must have been quite a bit of negative feedback received about this, because in 2010 you can customise the ribbons, or even add your own. Full a detailed explanation of how to do it, go to:

Go through the usual process in recording a macro (developer tab etc) and then add the macro to the QAT and then press modify. A picture dialogue box will appear and choose and rename.

It is the same process in 2007 and 2010.

specific, I do have some suggestions on the difficulty. ;) initially, the recommend out of your college is previous sort. workplace 2011 is the main cutting-edge version for Mac. although, on a similar time as function and compatibility with the residing house windows version is plenty a similar, there'll nevertheless be minor UI transformations. and there remains no get entry to application for what that is worth. And as has already been mentioned, you could run residing house windows on a Mac besides. the two by ability of twin booting (utilising Boot Camp assistant), or working residing house windows almost on the OS X laptop pc (utilising Parallels or Fusion). maximum suitable of the two worlds… precise? There are some downsides although. in case you run residing house windows almost, you do for sure lose a number of the close by overall performance of the hardware. And in case you twin boot it, the drivers that Apple supplies for residing house windows are somewhat common, e.g. no positive administration of ways the trackpad works and undesirable power administration. So in precis, if this have been purely for you on your man or woman residing house utilization, i might actual recommend you look at a Mac to work out it you like it. on a similar time as to not each physique's flavor, the hardware is extremely properly engineered and the OS is extremely slick and sturdy. although, with this exterior impression, consistent with danger you would be extra effective to comply with the faculty's suggestion and follow an ideal residing house windows pc.
