I have a set of letters that I created using a mail merge, and then made some very specific edits to several of them. I just realized that I left a pretty important field out - is it possible to re-add merge fields, using, say, a VLOOKUP or Pivot Chart, to add those missing (and very individualized) fields?

This is why I use a Folder Location for editing../

If I am to edit..

I use COPY..TO: a location..(original files/folders)

And then I create my location..for the final edit folder../

===

The COPY TO:location remains for a period of time..

..until I know I was successful../

Rule number one in Windows[tm] is back-up.

tall barbie has performed the job. nevertheless .. :) type the letter. keep the document. and performance the excel archives document accessible.. the position you could come upon it actual. bypass to mail merge interior the be conscious document of yours. the wizard facilitates you to do it. go with each of the headers one by utilizing 1 (that's what i do) they're highlighted even as they look interior the document. Now decrease paste them interior the be conscious document at good position. delete undesirable header (in be conscious) complete the merge.. it is going to create no of pages of a similar letter as no of information that you've. opt to reserve it one after the other, so for you to use a similar document back. == What if it does no longer paintings? It under no circumstances works for the first time, so do no longer panic. examine your excel archives your headers ought to commence in A1 and could bypass until eventually bring about A row. do no longer go away a sparkling cellular in row A do no longer have same header to 2 columns. ( no longer a huge situation even if) No sparkling row. And 1st attempt.. do no longer paintings less than pressure, do it once you've a large number of time. And take a buddy alongside with so that you've help.

You should be able to grab your template and re-merge your whole thing.
