I ripped several cds on windows media player this morning. However, my internet was down due to carrier outage. I got a msg popup saying that my album info wouldnt load correctly. I figured that was ok, that I could look up manually later. I come back to pc this pm to work on and now can not find my cds that i ripped anywhere in my library or in my music folder of my documents. Did I just waste all that time and effort? Do you have to be actively connected to net for you to rip a cd? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

The only reason you should need to be connected to the internet when ripping cd's is for it to retrieve the album, artist and track titles. Since it wasn't able to retrieve the information, the ripped tracks are generally stored under generic names like Unknown Artist or Track 1. I'd look in your music folders for any generic items, or if all else fails you can try doing a Search for any files modified today, to see if you can find them. They shouldn't have just disappeared, though.
