are these true or false
1. When you chosse to fill a cell with coler, it wil automatically change the font colre to one that complements it.
2. The Merge & Center command can be used only with numbers.
3. The comma Style inserts a dollar sign in front of numbers.
4.The Format Painter copies text formats but not number formats.
5. You can change a font's style and size but not its color.
6. You can use a keyboard command to force a linebreak and text wrapping in a cell.
7. Formats cannot be copied.
8. By double-clicking the Format Painter button, you can copy formats into multiple locations.
9. Titles can be centered across multiple columns.
10. Dates are not able to be used in formulas and functions.

False athough you can use conditional formatting to make a cell, if it mets conditions put formatting to it automatically



2. The Merge & Center command can be used only with numbers.



False you can center and merge anything even word art and pictures.



3. The comma Style inserts a dollar sign in front of numbers.



False though it will add 2 decimal places which can be removed.



4.The Format Painter copies text formats but not number formats.



False it can copy any format, number and text...type in a 5 go to format cells-numbers make it accounting with $ and commas then click the format painter (one click for just one format copy double click to do multiple formatting and then click again to toggle off)



5. You can change a font's style and size but not its color.

True you can change style color size and alignment, horizontal and vertical if need be.



6. You can use a keyboard command to force a linebreak and text wrapping in a cell.

True at the end of the word where you want to wrap use ALT + Enter and it will line break.



7. Formats cannot be copied.

False formats can be copied from one cell to another from one worksheet to another and if you're really good from one work book to another.



8. By double-clicking the Format Painter button, you can copy formats into multiple locations.

True as stated earlier.



9. Titles can be centered across multiple columns.

True as well as the rows immediately below the columns you wish to center.



10. Dates are not able to be used in formulas and functions.

False...put in your birthday in cell A1 put in todays date in B1 select both go to format cells-numbers-general in cell C1 put the formula in of =B1-A1/365.25 the answer will be how many days old you are....that's where the Star Date on Star Trek comes from....every day from January 1, 1900 is given a number to represent it 1/1/1900 = 1 1/2/1900 = 2 and so on.

There is a way. When you save the Excel file on Office 2007, If you want Office 2003 to read it you have to save it as a .xls file. To do this you go to File>Save As and Select Excel 97-2003 Workbook. Hope this helped.

I'm guessing you are taking a class on Excel. Why don't you fire up the program and figure it out. Should take about 10 minutes.
