I am using MS word 2003 and am trying to remove grid lines from a table. I select the table and choose borders and shading and selcet "none" from the options. The solid line forming the grid lines disappears but a faint set of grid lines still remains. I have tried any combination of settings but cannot get rid of the faint grid lines. Help please.

It's quite easy to remove gridlines which display on the screen but do not print. The gridlines are useful in showing cells and I find them to be an asset when dealing with a table.

With cell borders removed, showing gridlines makes it easier to edit tables. Gridlines show on the screen but do not print. To turn gridlines on or off, choose Table,Show/Hide Gridlines.

I think the faint lines will remain on the screen display, but not print.
