Firefox is much better than IE. IE does not even figure in my list of good browsers. Opera is close second.

Firefox and Internet explorer are both web browsers. However, there are many others.

However, the four largest browsers are Internet Explorer (from microsoft), Firefox (from Mozilla), Opera (from a company by the same name), and Chrome (from Google)

Internet explorer can respond quickly, and has a relatively low memory footprint(good), however, it is filled with security holes, and leaves your computer vulnerable. Internet explorer uses the Trident rendering engine.

Firefox has a large memory footprint (bad), however, it allows for a large amount of customization via add-ons, and skins. Firefox uses the Gecko rendering engine.

Opera has a low memory footprint and responds somewhat quickly, but is difficult to customize. Opera uses the Presto rendering engine.

Chrome has a medium memory footprint, and responds fast. However, given that it is relatively new, it is hard to customize, though this will be fixed once Chrome establishes itself more. Chrome uses the WebKit rendering engine.

This isn't even a question... someone else already cleared up that Firefox is a browser and Windows is an OS, but Firefox is still faster than Windows lol.

First, Windows is the operating system... I think you mean Internet Explorer or FireFox. The difference is mainly personal preference. I like FireFox, but that is just me it depends on which you like better, and they are both just about the same speed wise as far as I know.

Which one is best for you depends on your own situation... the sites you visit, and whether they require IE or not. Generally, though, Firefox is more secure and faster to react to security problems with fixes. It's also pulling ahead of IE in terms of speed and features.

What I do for sites that require IE is to use a Firefox add-on called IETab. With that, you basically run IE inside of Firefox for those sites that don't work with anything else.

In my opinion, Firefox is. I have both but only really use Firefox, it seems faster. Plus they had "tabs" before Windows did. Tabs are great..

Some people say that firefox is better b/c it crashes less.

I used to use it but have gone back to Internet Explorer.

So the only thing here is which web browser's appearance do you like better.
