I need to take text, for instance a sentence, and turn it into a circle. So it would be a circle with a diameter of a few inches, with the words forming the outer boundary of the circle. Does anyone know how to do this in MS Word? Thanks.

In MS Word, add the WordArt toolbar by clicking on View, Toolbars, WordArt.

Once you have that, use the toolbar to enter your text and format it. Click on the "A" button first, then enter the text.

To make it circular, click on the text, click on the ABC button of the toolbar. Click on the circle shape. Voilá!

WordArt USED TO be able to put text in a circle -- in the older versions of MS Word. But starting about Word 2003, we lost the ability to just put text in a circle.

Microsoft "improved" WordArt by providing a number of preset styles. You can put text in an arc, and with some degree of tinkering you can eventually get that arc to be part of a circle, but the prepared style that puts text on top of an upward arc and the prepared style that puts text on a downward arc seem to be impossible to get them to match.

Word Art. It's part of the Drawing tool bar. Choose the one that's a semicircle. You can stretch the shape into a circle using the yellow diamond and the sizing points.
