can i make movies on a mac. If any mac user has ever used a windows xp or vista you will see a program called windows movie maker in this softwrae i can make videos out of still images like jpg, bmp, gif files. And i can edit videos like adding my own song to the video and deleteing the orignal song from the video and editing the video like removing a scene from the video which i dont like. So can i do all this with a mac.

Of course you can!

You use iMovie to edit the movie, add still images, slide shows, soundtrack, special effects, etc. Use iDVD to master a complete interactive DVD with motion menus, multiple tracks. In high definition if you want. And the result is much better then Movie Maker, something got lost in translation when Redmond 'borrowed' the idea for XP. :)

All these applications come free with every Mac.

iMovie.

That's the Mac program that can do all of the things that Windows Movie Maker can do, and more. iMovie also allows the construction of DVDs, including menus and such, and it as well oversees their burning.

No need to save the file from one program and load it into another just to get it burnt onto a disc.

As an added bonus, it comes with MacOS.

Yes, Macs come with superior software for creating movies. All Macs come preloaded with iLife. iLife consists of iMovie (movie making), iTunes (audio) and iPhoto (photos) and they all work extremely well together in terms of file handling and workflow between the 3. iMovie is a great program for video creation and editing. It is probably as good a video program you can get without spending a fortune on Final Cut. iMovie pairs up with iTunes and you can import songs from your iTunes music library right into iMovie. It also works well with iPhoto. You can import photos from your iPhoto library right into iMovie. All in all, get the Mac. They are phenomenal.
