I struggled with this for quite some time when I prepared three ppt's for my niece's. I wanted to embed the file into the presentation so the file would be autoamtically included no matter what system it was openned on.

There is a good tutorial for this exact problem at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint/HA010348231033.aspx?pid=CH010716271033

I searched for quite awhile to find this last December, I hope you find it useful!

Well, another thing you COULD try would be to take your MP3 file and place it as a custom animation with an object, instead of separately.

I'm not sure if MP3's work like this, but most regular sound files do.

You can place an object or text in a text box, right click and then press custom animation. Along those tabs there's a place in which to put sound along with the object.

good luck w/ the presentation =)

make sure you see the right path for the music file that you are inserting in the presentation. The way to see it would be to right click on the speaker icon that you should see in the silde and click on edit sound option. The other way would be to bring the audio file to the desktop and then try inserting it. Just to make sure that you add it from the desktop (so that you dont forget the path).

One thing though, if you tried to transfer the presentation to a different computer and then tried to play the audio. you need to make sure the audio was transferred too and again, check the location of the audio for that computer.

Hope this helps.
