First of all, i had to re-format my comp a few days ago. I put windows xp, used the motherboard cd to install drivers/hardware, and then installed updates. When i got done, my speakers dont work now. They are not individual speakers, they are built into the sides of the screen, but they still have plugs, one green, and one pink. So i tried to open volume control it says "there are no active mixer devices available". Then i tried to install the hardware (Audio Device On High Definition Audio Bus) and it said "the hardware could not install because i dont have the necessary software needed". So i went to Realtek.com and downloaded a driver (AC97), and the hardware still wont install! So what else do i need to do to get my audio working??? Please give me good advice, ive been working on this for 3 whole days now! Thanks for everyones help!

Look for audio drivers in the driver cd...

Install them and it will work..

also check that you have put the green(playback) plug in the right area...

if u see volume icon in the taskbar, that means there is a problem with hardware...

and if u dont see it, that means u need to install compatible drivers...

In Mixcraft, click on the File menu, then select Preferences and look at the Sound Device preferences. Look at your Playback Device setting. This setting must be correct in order for you to hear anything from Mixcraft. If you're not finding any good choices in the Playback Device setting, go to your computer or sound card manufacturer's web page and check to see if there are any updated audio drivers.

Is that the driver for your device? I would check the name of the sound card. You can't download any driver made by the company has to match the sound card.
