Sadly some trojans are just a pain to get rid of. The only thing I found that worked with the one we had was a little program called SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition which we run along with Spybot and AVG Free. The amount of web use our public computer gets these three do the job though after you get rid of your problem I strongly recommend to going through with the Windows XP update regardless of the hassle so that any other potential holes are closed.

If you have a virus program and any anti spy ware programs, try booting up in SAFE mode and running them. They may remove it for you. If you know what the Trojan is and have a way to click on a link, it will take you to your virus programs site where they should have a removal tool. Best way since you seem to not want to do much so far as loading anything, would be to just format and re-load the computer. If you aren't running any virus programs, I would strongly refcommend that you get one. Some of the so called free ones are as bad as not having one.

well if u want extreme measures use the XP to reformat
or I'm not to fond on this idea but i heard in windows folder in system32 three is malicious remover that might help other wise if you don't wanna download to much u can get AVG-Free version its like 47 mb but that's quite ab-it other wise go on with reformatting if u don't have any vital files on your computer

best way i recommend is make a set of rescue disks from a mates computer (make sure the virus definitions are up to date), put the disc in and boot up.
load from the disc and let it scan your computer hopefully it picks it up
