Question:
Why does computer slow down over a period of time no matter how you treat it?

I use win7 ultimate and after 3months of install its bloated and sluggish startup of chrome takes 1 min 37 secs and other softwares like nero, adobe reader,ms office also take time to start.

i dont have any virus/spyware,i use avast internet security and do a regular registry and junk file cleaning, defragmentation with ccleaner, glary utilities and advanced system care atleast twice a week.

oh,plz dont tell me to upgrade RAM or processor bcoz windows is fast the time I reinstall it and gradually slows down.

My question is:
Does it happen only in windows as it has huge registry?or is there any other reason?

Does it happen in linux and mac os as well?if so why?

Its not just the problem of Windows, it happens with Mac as well.

It is because after a certain period of time your system get cluttered with unnecessary files, logs, trashes, system junk, large files, duplicate files, language files, universal binaries, unused applications, widgets, plug-ins etc.

So you need to clean it regularly in order to maintain the performance.

There are many tools available in market to do so.

For Windows: ccleaner

For Mac: SpeedUp Mac

"Does it happen in linux and mac os as well?if so why?"

Slow down is less apparent but ram and running as few programs and services are the Key.

Blam!

"It happens due to too many programs using RAM, you should delete unused items in the registry."

NOOOO to dangerous as you dont know how skilled the user is. Install cc cleaner and use that to stop start up programs. Remove temp files and clean the registry.

www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Then use this defrager to defrag and optimise the drive.

www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag/

Both are free.

The plop

I use ccleaner about 40 times per week and have never had a problem.

Of course your anti virus will slow your pc down.

Use Linux based system, No registry problems, De frags drive all time, No virus No malware therefore no Anti virus is required.

How to get started with Linux

Easy with no partitioning of drives.

Use the wubi ubuntu installer if using xp, vista or 7

www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/window…

OR

use puppy linux as a frugal install

Down load a puppy iso from the links below

Read about frugal installs below.

No need to partition drives as that's risky until you have some experience.

Registry cleaning programs cause more slowdowns than any other reason on the planet. Every single one will corrupt a setting EVERYTIME they are run, even the well known CCleaner.

Windows alone can have up to twenty four million settings in there, half encrypted. Do you think Microsoft are going to tell everyone what those settings are for? Of course not, every virus writer would love that. So tell me how can your program know? Every single software company, be it Nero, Cyberlink, Adobe will keep what those settings a closely guarded secret for security reasons.

It can be a number of things, some obvious things could be a virus or bloatware. Some things to have it boot faster is to search "system configuration", open it and go to the services tab, check "hide microsoft services" and uncheck services that you don't need like adobe application update or google update service, then click on the starup tab and uncheck applications that you don't want to startup with windows. Auslogics disk defragger is good for removing fragments. Those optimizing programs don;t do much of anything and will slow down your computer in some cases. You windows registry won't slow you down if it's large. Anti-virus really slows down your computers boot time, maybe by 20-40 seconds. Windows boots longer as programs install drivers and start-up applications. You can always buy an ssd to have faster performance.

Registry cleansing structures objective more effective slowdowns than yet another reason in the international. each and each one will corrupt a ecosystem EVERYTIME they are run, even the coolest known CCleaner. homestead windows on my own would have as a lot as twenty 4 million settings in there, area encrypted. Do you assume Microsoft are going to inform each human being what those settings are for? Of direction now no longer, each and each virus author might want to love that. So tell me how can your software recognize? each and each software organization, be it Nero, Cyberlink, Adobe will protect what those settings a heavily guarded secret for safe practices causes. each and every time you employ a registry cleanser you protect your fingers crossed and pray.
