My Microsoft Word 2007 is having issues. Help?

Whenever I open up Microsoft Word a dialogue box always comes up and says this

"This error usually occurs because of macro security settings. If you know that the macro comes from a source that you trust, you can change your macro security settings to allow you to enable the macro. The way that you change your macro security settings depends on the Microsoft Office System program that you are using."

I tried to go change it but it still doesn't work.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
And also why isn't my document fixing typos and grammar. Can I change that somehow because i went to the settings and tried to fix this also but it still wouldn't work. :( Help on this also?

Thanks:)

I had the same problem and took out the 'COM Add-in' under

Office Button-> Word Options-> Trust Center-> Trust Center Settings-> Add-Ins

It should work fine now. Hope it helps.

Here's a checklist of things that have to be set to do spell checking in Word.

First, the proofing tools for the appropriate language have to be installed, usually from the Office CD. The English version of Office also has the French and Spanish proofing tools. Others can be purchased separately.

Then,

1. Click the Office button in the upper-left corner.

2. Click the Word Options button.

3. Click the Proofing tab.

4. Check Check Spelling As You Type.

5. Check the Mark Grammar Errors As You Type checkbox.

6. Check the Check Grammar With Spelling checkbox. Note the Settings button. With this, you can select or deselect many nit-picking checks.

7. Uncheck the Hide Spelling Errors In This Document checkbox.

8. Uncheck the Hide Grammar Errors In This Document checkbox.

9. Click OK.

And to make sure spell checking isn’t turned off for any section of the document:

1. Press CTRL/A to select the entire document.

2. Click the Review tab on the Ribbon.

3. In the Proofing section, click Set Language.

4. Uncheck Do Not Check Spelling Or Grammar.

5. Click the Default button. (To make this change permanent.)

6. Click Yes in the message box.

7. Click OK.

Hope that helps.

The only time I've seen this happen is when the person was performing this while in email. Is that your case? If you received some kind of file in email, and you opened it and edited it, and then tried to save it, then the file is no where. You must save it on your hard drive first and then open Word and then open the document and edit it. If that's not what your case is, then I have never heard of it happening. But if it's a cracked, pirate copy of Word you got off some pirate site, that is your answer --- pirated copies are notorious for being screwed up because they are cracked by a hacker and are broken. If it's a legal copy you bought, then try downloading the latest updates from Microsoft. You could be missing a very critical update somewhere causing this strange issue.

If you have a trial version of the Office package then those items are not fully functional
