I'm creating a logo with the rectangle tool,I made two different layers crossing eachother, and I need to know how to make the lines between the layers disappear. For reference here's a picture. http://i658.photobucket.com/albums/uu306/Calypsonice/Reference.jpg

try this, right click on the cross layer in the Layers Pallet. select Copy Layer Style.

then, right click again and select Remove Layer Style.

now, do it for the other layer too.

now, select both layers using Shift key, Press Ctrl+E to merge them together. then, right click on the new merged layer on the layers pallet, select Paste layer style.

it should do.

Add any effects to the layers after merging them. Then it will apply to the both X's combined instead of individually.

Edit: Click the first layer, then hold down control(PC) or Command(Mac) and click the second layer. Then go to Layers > Merge Layers.

An even better way is to merge all the layers into 1 layer if you still want to keep the layers as well. Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E

Back up and take your effects off first. Then select all the layers you want to merge in the layers palette, right click (cmd+click) and select merge layers. Then put your effects back on.
