Well, you said you "download files rencently".I am sure that is the reason caused your computer slow down.

Ok,in one sentence, you have confused your computer Regsitry.

Let me expalin:

Any time you make a change to any of your computers settings, through the control panel, they are stored and updated in the registry. So, how does the registry get messed up? Well, let’s say you install a new program, and it then changes one of the registry files to work with the new program. The new program works like a champ, but what about the other program. You don’t know yet, because you have not had to use it. But when the time comes to open the old program or run your computer normally, and the required registry file is not there, or is different, the computer might just sit there. It has no idea what to do. SO YOUR COMPUTER SLOW DOWN,SO THERE ARE A LOT OF ERRORS.These problems happen every day to people, even to me. And, this type of problem causes a slow or freezing computer.

Now you need to fix your registry files. And, I guarantee you have errors in the registry files that cause computer slow.Fixing these errors will dramatically increase the speed of your computer.Sometimes can up to 300% or more! All you need to do is run a registry repair software called registry cleaner, and get your Windows registry cleaned up and optimized. You will no longer have a slow computer.

You can check out http://www.computerspeed.info/index.php?t=speed1 ,there are reviews of top 5 registry cleaners and a clear guide to tell you how to speed up your computer. And from there you also can get a free scan to fix any problems such as computers slow, computer freezing, computer errors and getting the blue death screen.

Hope that can help you.

The best way is to download Ccleaner here http://bitly.com/UrALrK

Or you can go on Windows operating system locate the command prompt and go there to do the following:

Create a Recovery file of system and date it today.

Then begin by;

delete the 'Temp' folders..they have hidden subfolders so you need to set the attributes in order to bypass this. For each subfolder delete all cookies and rubbish left behnd after install-uninstalled programs. Do a 'dir' command to check your progress. Make sure the 'Temp' file is empty.

goto c:\windows\prefetch and delete everything in there..no exceptions

goto c:\windows folder and delete all the '$' files that have been installed by updates. They can all be succesfully deleted and just take up disk space.

Locate the Internet Temporary Files..Check to see how high the saving level is..some have it set at 30 days..but that stores faaaar tooo much data..though it slows down the system overal. Keep this to a minimum..suggest 2 or 5 at most.

Delete all 'cookies' all those you don't need.

Locate the windows directory and go through the folders you know and those you don't need. Check this once a week at least. Some programs will install under XP as NT and older systems where there is no check of systems weight.

Check to see that system files have not changed since last booting. Things like .ini files or .bat are important items.

Check for 'Hidden Directories' all over the disk...do this at the command prompt:

dir *.* /ah wil show these hidden directories

Check the 'dir' command for all parameters

You haven't told us your system specs. Your system could be getting too old. Anyway here are a few things you could do to improve fps: 1. Use a dedicated graphics card. 2. Use at least 1GB of RAM. 3. Lower your graphical settings in the game options. 4. Shut down unused background services and programs. Bring up the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and look there. 5. If you do have a dedicated graphics card, check that the graphics aperture is set to at least half of your card's memory. This can be done in BIOS. 6. You could be playing on a 64 player server. This could strain your internet connection and your system. Try avoid huge populated servers if performance is important.

Here ya go...this site has all the software you need and all the instructions using a recovery disk.

If not you can run belarc www.belarc,com and get your assigned and legal cd keys print that out and find a friend with win me and install it USING YOUR KEY. The key is not encrypted on the disk but on the book and the computer it's was installed on. Then format and reinstall be sure and use your keys so run belarc if you have to go that way, print it so you have the actual CD Keys so you can reinstall it legally.

you can use any anti virus program (norton macafee kaspeer )

if there isn't any virus , If your problem in the browser you can download any other browser (firefox,opera,....)

if your system is slow you can reduce the running program from : Start>run>msconfig>startup

and uncheck any unnecessary program but avoid the system program

you can run in your original state by making new user from control panal

The best solution is to reinstall your windows

if the problem continue you must check your computer hardware I think your ram have a problem

Enjoy your time !

Do you still have your Windows ME Product Key (e.g. on a sticker on your PC Case)?

If so, you can obtain a copy of Windows ME OEM, and format your computer, using that key to reinstall Windows.

If not, then you can simply buy another copy of Windows ME (for example, from eBay). It will be selling for a very low price, now that Windows XP is well established, and Windows Vista has come out.
