My friend sent me a picture as an email attachment. It is a Photoshop document, which I should be able to open with Photoshop CS5, which I have. The image format is labeled as Adobe Photoshop Image 12. When I try to open it, it won't let me, saying that it is "not a valid Photoshop document." What's the deal?

Adobe Photoshop Image 12 is CS5. You should be able to open it. Make sure the extension is correct (filename.psd), or the file might be corrupt.

Changing a Format is normally done in the Menu bar at the top and depending is normally located in the FILE portion and select SAVE AS portion it will then open a box and give you your options there, In Photoshop there are upwards of 15 different file formats to choose from, click to the right of the area where it designates that the file is JPEG, or PDF, or TIFF whatever the image is presently to make changes. From the file menu select the "save for web" option. That might not solve your problem if your file is too big for Myspace to handle. In that case you will have to change the image size. You will see how to do this in the "save for web" window.
