My computer is an Ubuntu, and does anyone know a good, free program that I can burn my downloaded mp3s onto a CD with? If you own a Linux, you'll know it's hard to download stuff.

Brasero comes installed on Ubuntu by default.

If I can remember right, all you have to do is drag the MP3 songs you want to burn into a folder and Nautilus (Ubuntu's file manager) has an option listed on one of the top (I think it's under tools) to burn the contents on to a disc.

Or you can just launch Brasero and select "Data Project" then drag all the songs on to the projects list and burn the cd.

no it's as easy as pie! i do it all the time .

for Ubuntu you have burning software pre-installed as is the same with just about every single linux os i have tried. just go to Applications>Sound and video and it's there .

Brasero is the default burner in Ubuntu . but if you need a different one then got to System>Administration> Synaptic Package Manager and on the search option (the one that is a pair of binoculars) type in cd burner .

i use K3B myself and has never let me down burns everything from music to iso's to dvd's

let me know if you need more help. just send me an email

Linux has inbuilt softwares for CD Creation Packages , What you need to do is go to the Linux and search in it for inbuilt software packages for CD creation

Some of them are :--

X-CdRoast:

Home Page - Version 0.96e works well for data CD's. See configuration notes below for version 0.98 which has improved support for audio CD's.

readme (0.96e)

Note: By installing X-CdRoast on Red Hat 9.0, you may develop conflicts with the archive CD burning facility within the Nautilus file manager. (Drag and drop files to the burn folder)

GNOME Nautilus:

gCombust: - Uses Gnome drag and drop interface.

GNOME Toaster:

Disc-O-Matic - CD/DVD archiving tool

CDrecorder - GUI for cdrecord and mkisofs

ECLipt Roaster - GTK interface to mkisofs and cdrecord for writing CDs on the fly.

KisoCD - KDE CD burning front end to cdrecord and mkisofs

SSCDRFE - Qt based Small Simple CDR front end

TkBurn

BurnIT - JAVA front-end to cdrecord, mksiofs and cdda2wav

FireBurner - Burn data, audio, mixed mode, MP3's.

Mp3Cd - Create audio CD from MP3's.

Isn't there a program in Linux that you can turn on and then any program can then run in Ubuntu specifically?

It's been a while since I switch from ubuntu to windows 7 but, you can download a program called 'WINE'

Where you can search for it in Ubuntu's download manager, or just google "wine for ubuntu".

and then just get NERO or POWER ISO, again, easy to search in google, except for NERO that you have to buy.

Basically you run the program WINE and pick a program you wish to run under it, then it will run perfectly, Wine is what I used before if I wanted to play games or use Adobe, which can't run in Ubuntu. Main reason why I went back to windows.

You can download Poweriso here http://j.mp/1no3Z7u

It's a very simple and nice software.

K3b, which probable what you're using, is probbly the main person friendly. in case you're a noob then the others are going to be approximately as friendly as a bypass to to the dentist's place of work with a mouthful of cavities. possibly there are some i'm no longer conscious of although. do no longer assume something interior the comparable league as Nero or Roxio.

I personally prefer K3b

Nothing hard to install, any monkey could do it.

Simply go to Applications - Ubuntu software center - Type "K3b" in search - click install - and done! simple as 123...Good Luck
