It all started several months ago...when my computer gradually started running slower and slower...I've done many virus checks - all show nothing. I use F-Secure, which hasn't brought up anything as of yet. About 2 weeks ago, as I close out of internet explorer...instead of closing, it fills up with new tabs, opens a new browser window and fills up with tabs - overloads the computer until it says "internet explorer has stopped responding. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..." - The past 5 days, each morning when I wake up and get to the computer, it has a black screen, missing window file and cannot start windows...I don't even know what is deleting the file, as it is fine when I go to sleep, not when i wake up. Each day, using the Windows Vista CD, I repair windows, and it's fine...but today, that didn't work, but I did a restore option and that worked, thankfully. There is a lot of processes running that I have no clue what they are, and taking up a lot of memory.

You need to buy a better Anti-virus. I suggest, P.C. Cillin or Kasperski. Any free Anti-virus you get is a waste of money! Because you will end up paying. Even if the program is free, you will have to eventually pay for a program to catch the viruses the free one didn't catch. There is a reason that the "free" programs have an upgrade button.

For running slow there are many causes:

Microsoft Registry Problems = Slow Computer!

Spyware/Adware

RAM

De-Fragmenting

Etc.

Below can help you speed up your pc:

For IE, click Tools, Internet Options delete files (offline files) clear history (set days to save to 0 if you want) click o.k., and Restart

For Firfox, press ctrl+shift+del, and click clean private data.

Manage your startup:

Open your Start menu -> Click Run -> In the command screen type "msconfig.exe" -> In the "system configuration utility", click either "service" or "startup" tab -> Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.

De-Fragmenting

1. Right click of C Disk.

2. Click properties.

3. Click tools tab.

4. Click "Defragment now".

5. Click Defragment.

You can search which process full use you cpu, and end the process.

Under steps:

2. click the Task Manager.

3. click the processes tab.

4. double click the CPU.

The culprit in this instance is system restore its self. The new system restore is called shadow copy. It makes a copy of every change you make on your computer. That is what is taking up your hard drive space and causing it to run slow.

Click on computer then system properties at the top. Then to the left click on system protection. Another interface will come up , uncheck the checkmark next to C:/ a warning will come up and says "Are you sure you want to turn off system restore" Click yes, then click ok. Close those windows and then go through the same steps to turn system restore back on. If you will notice you will get a ton of disk space back and it will run like it did when you got it. Do this every 10 days or so and it will run ok.

First thing to do is turn your pop up blocker ON. From internet explorer go to tools-->pop blocker-->turn on.

Second, clear temp internet files.

Third, Defrag system

Fourth, go to www.pcpitstop.com

create an account for free or use a guest account and do a full system scan.

Seems like you have a couple of problems there, I would download and run Superantispyware to hopefully get rid of the multiple tab problem and see how it goes from there.
