use open office it is free ,use Impress to edit powerpoint files

PowerPoint is part of Microsoft Office. If you did not buy Office, you won't have PowerPoint. It is not part of Vista. Vista is the Windows Operating System. Microsoft Office is a suite of applications. Two different things, even if they are both by Microsoft. You may have had a trial version of Office on your computer, but you would still have to buy it in order to continue to use it.
