how to copy favorites to put on a disk? I used IE Import/Export but it could not open saved file?

I used Import/Export in IE and it saved file but I could not open said file, it said it may not be supported by any of the converters or may be corrupt or in use by another application.

go to C:\Documents and Settings\Userid and look for the favorites file, the icon looks like a yellow star. you may have to enable viewing of hidden and system files. Right click, copy and paste into your disk.

As you can see there are many different ways to accomplish your task. Here is my favorite method



1. Right click 'Start Menu"

2. choose explore

3. you will see folder list to the left. Right click on favorites folder and copy then paste to disk, memory stick or whatever media you are using.

It depends on your operative system. In windows XP SP2 they are stored as a subdirectory of C:\Documents and Settings\\



(replace with your actual username)



For instance, in my computer they are under

C:\Documents and Settings\Javier\Favoritos



here "Javier" is my username and "Favoritos" is the spanish translation for "favorites"



Open My PC and go for the equivalent directory in your computer. Then copy it as a normal folder.
