I have windows 7 build 7057 32-bit installed on my laptop, and i know that build 7600 requires a fresh install, but how do i format my partition to install it? If i stick in the cd i've made of it, it says not compatible with current os, and doesn't take me to the screen where i could choose custom install, so, what exactly must i do?

you need to set your computer to boot from cd/dvd. restart your computer with the disk in the drive and press F12 or whatever key it tells you to enter you boot options. Your screen will flash this just before windows starts to load up. once at your boot options select your cd/dvd and then press any key when prompted to boot from cd/dvd. after that you need to enter your advanced set up so you can delete your current partition and operating system so you can do a clean install of the new build

If it is actually a CD you made, it cannot be Windows 7 as Windows 7 is too big for a CD. The iso file from the Microsoft website has to be burned to a DVD which then becomes your boot disk

You shouldn't need to format unless you are dual booting. If you burned Windows 7 to a CD, it won't work because it needs to be burned as an .iso to a DVD.

The build sort won't exchange from updates. 7600 is the build from the launch to production, so it extremely is modern, whether it says no longer something approximately what updates you have put in.

Yeah, you'll need restart your computer with the CD in the drive.
