I have a spreadsheet that has several headings and rows under each heading. The problem is when the sheet is sorted, it can't be sorted back because the heading rows go to the bottom. Is there a way to link the rows to the heading when sorting?

Maybe this could help you:

Add a new column, example:

value for the first heading ZH and for the data that belongs to it ZD, the next group of data will be: heading YH and the data YD .... and so on (use the alphabet in reverse order: Z Y X W)

To sort back the data, just soft by this column " Z to A"

How about adding a column to the left of A (will be the new A). Then put something in there (maybe H for header) for each of your header rows. When sorting and you want to remove the headers, just use column A as the primary header. When you want to sort the entire sheet, use something else as the primary key.

If you select just your data, and not the headers, the headers will not be sorted with the data itself.

After you select everything, then click Sort, you can choose which column you want to sort by (based on the headers) and create a secondary, tertiary, quaternary, etc.. sort level by click the Add Level button. This may not be necessary if all data needs to be aligned with a particular column.

Click on DATA > SORT

Then click on the box that says "My data has Headers"

That will keep headers at the top.
