Is there a way to recover a file that won't open due to an "end of file" error in Photoshop CS4?

I saved a file on my computer from Photoshop CS4, when i tried to open it today to re-work it, the file won't open due to an "end of file" warning message. Is there any possible way to recover this? This is a very important document, so your prompt response is appreciated. Thanks!

Forget the registry.



I get this problem all the time due to broken downloads.

Believe it or not, mspaint, which ships free with windows will open broken files.



All you need to do is open the file with mspaint and then re-save it. You will see the parts of the image that are 'broken' but they are usually a minority and can be cropped out.



One you have re-saved the file, you will be able to open it in Photoshop.



To open mspaint, click 'Start' then 'Run' and then type 'mspaint' in the box and hit OK.
