Which is the best operating system for my System?

Guys i want to know which is the best operating system for my computer. My system specs are as folllows:

Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93 Ghz
Intel Motherboard DG31PR
3 Gb ddr2 ram
320 Gb Hard Disk
Ati Radeon HD 4550 1 gb ddr2

and i want to select between these 3 operating systems which are as follows:

Windows 7
Windows Vista
Windows XP

Which is the fastest among these for my operating system?

If at all possible, I'd select Windows 7. Windows XP should be faster, but doesn't come with the fancy capabilities of Windows 7. I would avoid Vista like the plague.

Windows 7, or you can wait for windows 8, which will be released in 2012
