Domain user has been given new computer. Outlook was setup but user claims they are missing old emails past a certain date. These auto archive I thought into a .pst file. I can't find this file on the user's old computer anywhere.
Can anyone assist with this?
Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance. Best answer lands the 10!

It's in a hidden system file folder (AppData) so you need to go to unhide folders first before you can see it.
Then the path is Users/[the user's name]/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Outlook
And there you will see the archive.pst folder

archives are pst files so they contain all the stuff exactly as it looks to you. when you do the archive you set the starting point of the folder tree. so if it starts at the inbox then you get everything under it as well all the separate folders exactly as you see them you can also go up one and get the outbox and contacts and everything basically so long as you archive as a pst file. you can CONNECT to an archive and see it all there. in fact you can make one each year and call it archive2010 archive2011 connect them all and on and on and on get the picture an INBOX for every year...... oh and you can re-read in an archive if you want them back in too. as once they are archived they only exist in the archive so you can pass them over to a new pc if you like. so if a workers laptop goes up in smoke just give them a new one, re-read their archives and at least they wont be too far out. Note: this means you get the deleted items folder as well so empty it before archiving. that goes for sent items too so avoid filling it with rubbish, unless you like keeping sent stuff too. archives had limits in outlook 2003, i forget what the new limits are in 2007 so multiple regular archives are needed for high end emailer's

Assuming the older computer is XP the default location is C:\Documents and Settings\User Profile\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Archive.pst
It is possible to store it in a different location. For example some of my employees store theirs on my central file server. If you can still open Outlook on the original computer, just check the configuration settings for archive. There you'll find the path to the archived files.
