If you're looking for an eCommerce platform, definitely Magento. Drupal Commerce and WooCommerce from WordPress, while good enough, offer nowhere near the functionality of Magento. Magento can also scale with the needs of your business very nicely, offering anywhere from the Magento Go edition to the Commmunity edition all the way to the Enterprise Edition.

I will go for Drupal because I have found that though Magento has many mature built-in features, I only need to select few of them, and I have little control over them, it feels like it is cluttered and rigid in my situation. I need something, that is more friendly to 'going under the hood', and I assume Drupal is it. But I think if I am a better programmer, then I could get Magento to suit my needs, but I'm afraid I'm not.

In my opinion Drupal is better than magneto.

Drupal is an open source platform that manages to reinforce the excellent Content Management System offered by Drupal with hundreds of different modules which provide many ecommerce functionalities such as invoices, receipts, orders, and expenditure; and performs other functions needed by online merchants.

Still, Drupal Commerce distinguishes itself from Magneto with the strength of Drupal’s CMS capabilities. Magneto has CMS ability built into it, but it is not a CMS. When managing products is more significant than managing content, Magneto is comparatively good.

If your sales and services are easy and uncomplicated, Drupal Commerce will serve you well, provided that the CMS functionality is more important to your overall needs and goals.
