I'm trying to play an older game, but I can't get it to load. I keep getting a message saying that it can't start or run because it's an unsupported 16 bit application that's not compatible with a 64 bit version of Windows. Is there any way I can get the program to run?

If you could get your hands on an old copy of Windows 98 SE you could install Virtualbox on your Windows 7 Machine and install Window 98 SE in Virtualbox. (You can also use XP and run in compatiblity mode)

Other wise, I Don't think Windows 7 will run a 16 bit app (Unless you Window 7 Ultimate and run in virtual mode)

What game?

It depends whether the game is DOS, Windows 16-bit, or just has a 16-bit installer (many 1995-1999 games). Almost anything is runnable.

Indeed, 90 per cent of the time, getting an old classic up and running is a piece of cake. Sod's law being what it is, though, the game you really want to play will usually land in that fiddly other 10 per cent, and when that happens, you're on your own. Well, no longer.

Are they Windows-based or DOS-based? If they are DOS games, you can use DOSBox. Use this link http://fd577879.tinylinks.co for the win 7 how to
