I can't remove security toolbar 7.1 and its other components...please help!?

Question

i have this adware thing that hacked my homepage and shows pop ups every 3 seconds....i want to delete it but can't


i just got a hijack this log: can anyone analyze it and help me remove the adware? thank you.

You don't say what your operating system is, but I can tell you that I have XP SP2, and I tried HijackThis once. It did not remove the spyware, and that's what you have. A very complicated piece of spyware. What I do recommend is Ad-Aware and SpyBot Search & Destroy, both free from download.com. I have used this combination for years, and depend on it to keep my computer free of junk like this.

Click on Antivirus, Firewall and Spyware on the left and find Ad-Aware and SpyBot. When/if you install SpyBot, first immunize your computer against over 40,000 known pieces of spyware, then run a full bot check and remove everything it finds using Fix Selected Problems. Then run a full system scan in Ad-Aware and remove everything it finds. Between the two of them, I think you'll eliminate your problem.

Easiest way to do it is. # 1. Find out where it is. # 2. Log into Safemode. # 3. Remove the software through the add/remove files in the control panel # 4. (( If Number 3 doesn't work )) While remaining in safe-mode. Delete the folder(s) directly. This would inheriantly delete the files that are inside.
