Question:
need help Installing flash in Fedora Linux (GNOME 3.x)?

Hello all,

I need a little help installing Adobe Flash on Fedora 15.
I am new to the world of linux, so please give intuitive
instructions and please don't use any wild words that only
people who've used linux forever would know.

That being said, my problem is that i can't get Adobe
Flash to work on my computer. It didn't come with it pre-installed
like all the other Distros I've tried. I've looked in the Add/Remove
software for the packages but the search always comes up with
nothing. And i have NO idea how to download it from a direct link
and extract the packages and somehow find the installer in that
mess. All the other flash player I've downloaded don't
exactly work. (Gnash, ect.)
So, please, help me figure out how to do this! It's almost impossible
to live without flash, no matter was apple fanboys say!!

Thanks!

download the .rpm from the adobe site and run it, or to do it manually download the tar.gz and extract it. Then copy the resulting .so to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ and restart firefox to use it.

If you OS is a 64 bit you will need to choose either a beta version, or use a pluginwrapper to use it. (ndisplugin I think it's called)

You should download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, you can get it for free here http://j.mp/1mF2KMu

Adobe Flash Player is often responsible for video issues on pc. For instance I had lots of black screens on youtube. I tried to figure out the reasons myself as people keep saying very different things on the topic. In my opinion the problem is not youtube, it's something in your computer that it's not working properly and must be updated. I am sure that if you update adobe flash player you will be able to fix all your problems and your videos will start working again.

Adobe's Flash plugin cannot be included in Fedora because it is not free/libre and open source software. Adobe does release a version of the Flash plugin for Linux, and this can be used in Firefox, Konqueror and other popular Internet browsers. When Adobe releases a newer version of the Linux Flash plugin, it makes packages available for Fedora, but Fedora cannot include Adobe's plugin as long as it is unavailable as free and open source software.

You need to have your browser (Firefox, Konqueror) install flash add on, not Fedora

Go to Adobe's download site and download the yum package and install it.

Then as root do "yum install flash-plugin"

If you are running the 64-bit Firefox you might need the 64-bit beta release; I forget if there's a yum version for that.

Fedora uses RPMs, yum is a package manager that gets those automatically from repositories online. Adobe have their own repository, which the yum download installs a config for in /etc/yum/repos.d so that yum will search Adobe as well as RedHat when you look for packages.

you easily do no longer choose Flash for YouTube or different media web pages anymore...maximum of it somewhat is in HTML5 now, and YouTube has a very smart HTML5 internet site that works extra advantageous than the Flash internet site on the grounds which you do no longer might desire to handle something crashing. in case you insist on using Flash, then in basic terms pass to the Adobe internet site and it will assist you to acquire the suited version on your device.
