AVS Audio Converter can't open my files?

I just downloaded the AVS Audio Converter (unregistered version) onto my computer. When I click "Add Files" to convert, it just says "one or more files cannot be opened". It's quite annoying. I found another person on here with this exact same question, and the person who answered gave a "not-so-helpful" answer. If you know how to fix this, please help me immediately.
