No. Softwares developed for Mac would not run on any other Operating System. Apple uses Unix only in its Kernel level. They have lot of layers above them. Most of the applications developed uses powerful Apple Frameworks like Carbon and Cocoa. These frameworks(aka libraries) are absent in any other OS.

Only applications developed in Java would run in multiple platforms.

You should be able to port the applications written in pure C/C++ easily though. But again compiled binary will not work right away.

MAC IS BASED ON FREE BSD AND NOT OPEN BSD

HOWEVER ON TOP OF THAT APPLE BUILDS SEPARATE FANCY AQUA INTERFACE THAT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH FREE BSD OR ANYTHING ELSE SO PROGRAMS FOR FREE BSD WILL NOT RUN NATIVELY ON MAC

HOWEVER AGAIN MAC IS LINUX CERIFIED SO YOU CAN RUN ANY LINUX PROGRAM ON MAC IF YOU USE X11

here is a link - just left click it and you'll be there

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/x11formacosx.html

this link will prove to you that mac os x is based on free bsd

Mac OS X - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Since Mac OS X is based on UNIX, most software packages written for BSD or Linux .... Developers can register for free with the Apple Developer Connection ...

I assume yes but Apple did modify OpenBSD.

not natively, however i'd bet that you would be able to port it. the way apple has customized their installers and app booting, etc. has deviated a bit too far from openbsd
