My friend sent me an E-mail of some Pictures?i need help?

When i try to download attatchment a windows box pops up and it says"to open this files windows needs to know what program created it. windows can go online to look it up automatically, or you can manually select from a list of programs on your computer"...what do i do or how do i get rid of it?

I think the extension of the attached files are missing.

I suggest choosing "save" instead of "open" when downloading the attachment and then changing the file extension to jpg. If your email client does not allow the download option for the atachment then forward your mail to another mailbox (with another mail client and service) and try again.

Normally a picture file will say

picture1.jpg or picture1.gif



jpg and gif are the file extensions. What does your attachment have?

Email your friend and ask them what program they used.
