It says disk defrag is unable to start, and for error checking it says Windows is unable to check for errors.............****

bring up task manager and shut off any non essential programs running in the background. defrag restarts after every interruption.

I have read on this site that you need 15% of your total hard drive memory free to defrag. Could that be the problem? Hope this helps. Good Luck.

First download ccleaner to desktop. Next

restart PC in safe mode by gently tapping F-8 key, choosing "Last known good configuration". After restart go back into safe mode and choose "Safe Mode". Run ccleaner and the registry cleaner in ccleaner and when done, try using defrag in safe mode...
