I am writing a professional letter and everytime I type in an e-mail address, it turns it into a hyperlink---how can I make it stop doing that. It is really driving me crazy.

And just to vent---word perfect 11 SUCKS! I realize it is not that different compared to MS Word...but there are a few things that are really giant freaking hassles in it (like this).

Anyone happen to know how you can make it no automatically put in an extra line when you hit enter? It has automatically put in an extra line between paragraphs that I do not want there and it wont let me delete the line. ...if you delete the line it just makes the new paragraph start at the end of the last sentence of the last paragraph instead of a new line. UGH!

thanks.

It's been a LOOONG time since I've used wp but since you have no answers yet, I thought I'd try to help you out.

For hyperlinks, you should be able to right-click on any hyperlink and ask it to remove its auto format. In fact you in theory should be able to remove autoformat from wp's setup but not sure...have you tried their help menu keyword "auto format".

As for the extra spaces added to your document. A quick answer is holding shift down while hitting return should indicate a single return...at least it does in other programs I've tried. For longer term solutions to this other formatting issue, again, try the help menu of the program and type in the keywords "paragraph spacing".

EDIT ---

Assuming this hasn't changed in from previous version I reread an old manual and here's what it said:

HYPERLINKS:

To remove the link and leave only the text, right-click the hyperlink and select Hyperlink, Edit Hyperlink. In the Edit Hyperlink dialog box, click Remove Link.

To disable the automatic hyperlink feature, select Tools, AutoCorrect, click the AutoFormat As You Type tab, and uncheck "Internet and network paths with hyperlinks."

PARAGRAPH SPACING:

To access the Paragraph formatting options, navigate to the menu bar, and select Format >> Paragraph >> Format. A window will appear with options for modifying spacing and indenting. Here, you can choose to make the text in your document single or double spaced, as well as edit the margins for the document.

I don't use WP, but can offer you somewhere to go for help.
