I went from XP & 2003 Office to Windows 7 & Office 2010 however can't open my documents created in office 2003 what can I do to fix this

That's strange. Maybe you are doing something incorrectly. Office 2010 should be able to read/edit/save in older formats. Have you tried reinstalling Office 2010 to be sure everything is fine?



You may also try to temporarily use Office Web Apps or LibreOffice to access those old files and use the "Save As" option to save them to a newer format and test the newly-saved document in Office 2010:

Office 2010 is backwards compatible with all the older file types so you shouldn't have any issues opening them. What file type(s) are the older files saved as?

sure yet once you had to most of the "Fancy" formatting that has been further in to MS 2010 then 2003 and 2007 would be unable to open in properly. that is going to open it, it in basic terms won't look like what you predicted
