Hey everyone, I just downloaded the browser Flock (new), which is apparently based on Chrome instead of Firefox now.
All I need is the AdBlock Plus addon, which works on both Chrome and Firefox, working on Flock.
I tried visiting the Chrome Web Store and the Firefox one but on neither of them I can use the extensions. I downloaded AB Plus manually and it's some kind of .xpi file I can't open.
Also I'm using a Mac, not Windows.

.xpi files are only compatible with Firefox i'm afraid. You won't be able to use it to install the addon on flock, unless Flock supports the Firefox extension filetype [.xpi] which it doesn't. you won't be able to download the extension direct from Chrome store either as you need Chrome for that.

People have successfully ported some firefox extensions to flock by changing the .xpi extension to a normal .zip extension in windows explorer. It works for some extensions but i don't know about adblock. There is a full tutorial here from someone who has successfully done this, although the manual changes only seem to work in some versions of Flock. You may as well try it, it may work for adblock, see here: shttp://www.liewcf.com/make-your-own-flock-extensions-1952/

good luck

Hey,

I found a free download of AdBlock here http://bit.ly/1p6odn1

Adblock blocks annoying popup windows and works very well.

Give it a try.

Cheers.
