Ok, so just some basic microsoft word & openoffice questions:

Do they have good technical support?

Do they need to be upgraded often?

What are their best features?

Thanks for your time.

Open office is like a free version of word.

Technical support: Never used, never have issues with this type of software.

Upgraded: Only updates every now and then, not often. They aren't even mandatory.

Best features: Almost the same thing. Some differences. I prefer word though.

MS Office is more polished. Open Office is free.

Libreoffice is apparently the 'new' Open Office, so it might also be worth taking a peek at.

They should overlap between 99% of the features you use on even a weekly basis.

The nicest feature of MS Office is the compatibility between the different applications. For example, you can easily copy an Excel table into Word.
