I guess I would need to use Rosseta to run the PowerPC app on my Intel Mac, but thats ok.

I have AppleWorks on my Windows PC and would like to use it on my Mac.

PS. I already have iWork, I just want to use AppleWorks for fun.

Well, your Windows copy would run on the Mac with either virtualization (VMWare, Parallels, VirtualBox) or something like CrossOver Mac (which is based on DarWINE). You can also find cheap copies of the Mac version of Appleworks floating around on eBay and online retailers that specialize in older Macintoshes. Also, if you know anyone that has an older iMac G3, iMac G4, or iBook, they'll probably have a copy of Appleworks with their installer software.

Just make sure it's the OS X specific version of AppleWorks, because the Mac OS Classic version won't work in OS X.

The Windows version of AppleWorks will not run in any version of Mac OS.

Appleworks is not available for free download from Apple. You can find it available for sale at reduced prices.

Steve Jobs said "about a year" after the announcement date of June 9, 2008, so it could release shortly, but there is no set in stone date. There was a developer release on May 8, and a code freeze on May 11, which should mean that it is on track to release fairly soon.
