running windows xp. recent upgrade to I.E7 may be causing a problem.I need to remove the upgrade and revert back to I.E6,then possibly upgrade again.how can I do this, one suggestion is to select add/remove programme I.E7 and click on remove.
will this remove the upgrade and leave I.E6 or will it remove the complete internet explorer programme?

Uninstalling IE7 does not remove IE6. But i strongly advice against reinstalling IE7. Win Explorer uses the same engine so if you trash ie there are big chances that Explorer will go also.

Switch to Opera instead.

You are right in saying that you should remove IE 7 from Add/Remove Programs. It won't remove IE completely. IE 6 will remain behind.

However, if you wanna have a backup, download Firefox and keep it installed and handy, in case IE 6 gets uninstalled too. This way you can download a new IE 7 from the web using Firefox.

First, download the installer for ie from the Microsoft website. Then, uninstall ie7 and use the installer on your desktop to reinstall ie7. The process will completely remove internet explorer so download the installer first.

I downloaded and located it to be somewhat consumer unfriendly. each and all of the common good factors which you're familar with on the older version have been hidden on in layers which make it somewhat perplexing to make certain. because of the fact I have been given a life and that i'm no longer prepared to spend hours looking the place issues could be, I gave up. Plus i got here across it somewhat buggie too, i do no longer bear in mind the specifics yet i did no longer like it. In precis, no longer worth my time and attempt in basic terms yet.

it should do. ie6 is part of windows so you cant uninstall that. if you cant unistallit through add/remove try downloading ccleaner from download.com this has an unistall function in the tools logo try from there. best advice dont reload ie7.

Restore your computer to when you were running the old IE... this will then take you back to that date... Go to control panel (or tools), select performance and maintenance where you can choose the option to restore to a date of your choice :)

Just uninstall IE7 XP is not compatible with it. You will still have IE6 left. Good Luck.
