How do I hide the grid lines in a table that I created in Microsoft Word 2003?

I want the text to show but not the grid lines.

Gridlines are only visible on the screen and do not print. Gridlines are an asset when working on a table. If you choose not to show both cell borders and gridlines, the table layout may be very confusing.



The default value is for a new table to have borders around all of the cells. You can either press Ctrl+Alt+U immediately after you create the table to eliminate all of the cell borders, use the Border icon on the Formatting toolbar to select what lines you want to remove or add, or go to Table/Borders and Shading for even more choices. There is a down arrow next to Border icon that will display various options. With cell borders removed, showing gridlines makes it easier to edit tables. Gridlines show on the screen but do not print. To turn gridlines on, choose Table/Show Gridlines.
