You can also save it as an 'xml' file for word 2003...

yes but u will have to resave it and email it 2 ur friend, when u r saving it change the file type to .doc (ms xp compatibality) then it should work

Open Office can save documents in the MS Word format (.doc).



In OO, go to File, Save As then when the dialog box appears, Find the box marked Save As Type and select Microsoft Word (.doc)



Your friend will now be able to open the file.

Right-click on a word document. Select Open With > Choose Program... in the choose program window highlight Open Office and place a tick mark where it says: Always use the selected program to open this kind of file Click OK

Save it in Word format or even rtf or txt so it can be opened by any word processing program.

You could convert it to a text document (.txt) and re-sent it to them.



They may have to do a bit of re-formatting to make it look nice.

When you open your document, click file save as and save it as a rich text document and that opens in most word processors and programs. Hope this helps

You could use google docs. It can open almost any format and can save in a variety of different formats as well.
