I cannot get my microsoft office disc to download onto my laptop?

I had it on my laptop previously though scrubbed all the data on the laptop, now I need the Microsoft word and am unable to download the disc on to my laptop, the laptop is an HP with windows 8? Can anyone help me ?

Possibly the disc is scratched so it won't read.



Rather than buying a new expensive copy you could download Open Office instead which is completely free.



(Can't provide a link b/cause I'm not running Windows myself).

You don't have to be running Windows to find a link for Open Office, which is available free for multiple operating systems: http://www.openoffice.org/



Or a group broke off from that with Libre Office when Oracle took over Open Office from Sun (I did not realize that Apache distributes Open Office now). Libre Office is also available free for multiple operating systems: https://www.libreoffice.org/



Personally I am running Linux at home which came with Libre Office.
