Why can't i watch videos using WINDOW MEDIA PAYERS anymore?

Just recently i can't watch any videos using WMP anymore. Back then I can watch all the videos that i recorded from my camera. Now I can't even watch it using other programs nor can I open it with window movie maker. BUT the only program that works is VLC media player. What can be done? I want to make put videos together using window movie maker but i can't even open the video.

Most probably you are missing the codecs required to play the videos. As VLC and similar players have their own codecs, they can still play the video when WMP can't. I don't really recommend using WMP as it is slow and does not have many options, if you really want to watch videos on WMP, you should get the k-lite codec pack from http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Codec_Pack_download.htm
