cannot open any .exe file PLEASE HELP!?

Question

My work computer was hit with a malware virus while trying to remove the virus i deleted a file called mme.exe or mmc.exe one of those.

Now i cannot open up any .exe file or program except internet explorer. I can't do a system restore, whenever i try to open anything it ask me what i would like to open the file up with and only gives me the option of internet explorer.

I have tried to download a recovery program so that i could recover the missing file but i get the same message asking me what program i would like to open up the file with.

Please help it is my work computer and I do no want my job to be in jeopardy

As this is your office computer, do not mess it up further. I suggest you to contact your IT Helpdesk guys and get the windows reinstalled. MMC.exe is essential process/file to run windows successfully, if this is missing then reinstalling the windows is only the option I see.

have you ever run malware bytes in probability-free mode? once you've a trojan it really is going to p.c.. it up, in probability-free mode? This get the an infection in the previous it has had time to take result on you pc and disable it? domicile windows 7 device restoration has the potential to eliminate an infection too, in case you pass again to a restoration factor previous to undertaking?
