The best thing to do is read through this guide,it doesn't matter that they have chosen to use the Gnome desktop,it will show you how to set up your software repo's etc,as for anti virus you generally don't need it but when you have found your way around Suse try looking for QTFProtec,a linux AV program or got to the AVAST website and download the RPM version.

you need to figure out what software package management system is available with Suse - learn how to use it please!!!!!!!!

Linux doesn't need anti-virus software - unless you are handling a lot of e-mail for other windoze users (mail server). If you really truly want to have an anti-virus program, clamav should be available through Suse's package management system.

I knew some moron could propose a MAC. Did you examine his submit? He in basic terms construct an AMD Phenom device, he won't be able to apply MAC. in case you in no way used Linux previously, Ubuntu is amazingly instantly ahead and known to ex-living house windows shoppers in that regard, yet when you're instilled specially courses or (god forbid) video games, you received't discover the change really undemanding to address. You in fact prefer to ignore about utilising the courses you're used to altogether. in spite of if some software, like Limewire professional, is for sale on Linux besides, maximum living house windows software nevertheless isn't. if you're a open-minded and a techy-kinda-guy then you truly could be waiting to p.c.. up on it fairly actually. I messed round with it about a 12 months in the past, the Feisty version, and that i fairly loved it yet stopped utilising it because I always had a prefer to apply the former courses I always did. not each application for living house windows has a Linux equivalent. if you're interior the mood for an iffy-adventure, change to Ubuntu, in case you only prefer to apply your computing device, downgrade to XP SP3. it truly is by ability of advice.
