Is there a way to remove header/footer from large document without having to go page by page?

I'm trying to format a large document which had a header/footer already set on it. When I use the remove footer command, the footer goes on the page that I was looking at but when I scroll down, the footer continues to show on other pages. Any idea how to fix this?

It's obvious that you have more than 1 section in the document. You will have to remove headers or footers section by section unless they are continuous from one section to another.

Assuming that you are using Word, right click on the Status Bar at the bottom of the Word screen and make sure Section is checked. You will be able to see what section the cursor is in. To see how many sections are in the document go to the end of the doc (Ctrl-End) and see what section you are in.

To go from one section to the next, Press Ctrl-G and click on Section.

Assuming you are using a recent version of Microsoft Word, you should double click in the header or footer. Then click the "Header" icon in the top-left of the screen. Click "Remove Header". At most, you should have to do this on two pages if the document has "Different First Page" or "Different Odd and Even Pages" selected.

It would help to know what application you are using?
