i'm lukewarm on Ubuntu however I did use the stay CD on a employer holiday whilst my stressful force crashed on the line final week. in many circumstances I desire greater austere variations of GNU/Linux like Slackware and Gentoo. a extreme communicate of the relative advantages of the OSes could be that residing house windows is inherently a shopper OS and GNU/Linux, which Ubuntu is as much as Slackware and Gentoo, isn't. consequently there are extreme questions approximately no remember if the two are even comparable. i could say that XP is the terrific of the residing house windows OSes. Karmic Koala isn't as reliable as Edgy Elf by Hardy Heron. i could relatively say XP and Karmic are greater or less comparable yet i does not say one or the different is greater powerful. i could relatively play with it some greater. in actuality i could open a terminal, open a information superhighway browser and form "Unix educational" into the hunt engine. What you will arise with are tutorials approximately utilising the shell you get right of entry to by your xterminal. in case you're able to make it by a number of those, then relatively set up it. at an identical time as Ubuntu and Canonical application do each little thing they could to be sure you do no longer want it, if some thing is going incorrect, as sometimes happens, you would be surprised at how little previous those straight forward tutorials, you may desire to get you out of it.

I don't believe there is any way to do this. You will need to do a clean installation of Ubuntu to erase Vista.
