How do I install emacs for linux while booting from the Ubuntu cd?

I'm trying to use the program emacs for a programming class but do not want to create the partition on my hard drive for the Ubuntu OS. How can I run emacs while booting from the disc?

Just as a note, EMACS runs on Windows too (at the very least under Cygwin), so you don't need to do this. You can go into a terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal), and type "sudo apt-get install emacs". It will install automatically as long as you have an internet connection and a little free RAM. However, it will go away when you exit the LiveCD.

your question is too confusing..but still off course u have to partition ur hard disk for installing ubuntu and 1 more thing ubuntu live cd doesn't contain emacs u need to remaster it but better option is to install unbutnu in ur hard disk.
