How can I decide which Linux is for me? I use WinXP now but I don't buy games (e.g. GTA etc.) I want a reasonably easy one to install which is likely to find all my hardware. But it must also have lots of nice features to make me pleased I changed.

I'm not a total noob so don't put ease of installation above all else. It's gotta be free though.

Hi, I would suggest openSUSE, I use it as well. Here r my reasons:

1. Very stable with less bugs compared to other systems like ubuntu. In fact I haven't encountered one bug in it.

2. Its the only linux system which is as polished as Mac OS X or Windows.

3. It has excellent documentation.

4. It looks good by default

5. Its very easy to use and has a GUI for everything unlike other Linux systems.

6. Hardware support is excellent in all.

7. Great community support as well.

8. Since openSUSE started the compiz fusion project which r the desktop effects then they have the latest ones on it.

9. Novell which is openSUSE's sponsors have a deal with Microsoft so there is better compatibility of file formats and it is the only Linux system which can open .docx files and stuff.

10. All the best and latest software is on it, and its very easy to maintain.

OpenSUSE is perfect for a new user as well as old ones.

Take a look at Fedora which is the free verision of Red Hat. Ubuntu is also a great one. I dislike SuSE. You might want to log onto the various FORUMS for the different distros and get an idea of how things work. I have had problems with Ubuntu trying to recognize SATA drives. I personally prefer Fedora because instead of LILO as the boot loader, it uses the latest GRUB boot loader. I prefer GRUB over LILO any day. Ubuntu has tons of free software, but I like some command line power, and I like the package manager in Fedora better. I would say either Fedora or Ubuntu.

It is up to you. Try getting some live distros to try before you install. Suse is a favourite of mine but is tempremental. There is a new version of this

(Suse 11) coming out in June, I hope they have the bugs ironed out.

Then there is Ubuntu. There is a major release of this next month, should be worth a look.

I am running Simply Mepis which is sleek and swish. You do need modern hardware to run it tho. Best of luck, Linux is a good system and rewarding to operate and configure.

ubuntu or madriva probably have some of the best mardware compatibility. I personally like Fedora 8 but can be a seriious pain initially for wireless and graphics setup especially if you equipment is really new. also like PClinuxOS. I'm personally partial to the Gnome versions of these distrobutions but KDE versions will provide a more familiar experience. GNOME is very simple to figure out but is kinda a cross of Windows and mac.

Hello,

If you are searching for Hunting Unlimited 2010 you can download it for free here: http://bitly.com/1BDAOkK

no surveys, no scams, just the full game!

You can choose between five locations in North America, or you can go on a Safari in Africa. Later, once you have chosen the territory, you will need to select a weapon among the 32 different ones available and then start hunting.

I love it!

PCLinuxOS2007 is very good, it installs via a live CD in about 10-15 mins has very good hardware detection and setup via the control centre which is very easy to use and apart from downloading libdvdcss and win32 codecs via one of its repositories its ready to go so no hunting around to get dvd playback working,,should you run into problems the forum is very helpful.

There are 2 that i love: Debian and Kubuntu. Debian has thousands of help courses (purposes and utilities). Kubuntu is an off-shoot of Debian and has change into general because it truly is a "plug and play" replace for homestead windows. It only works with none flaws.
